Cybersecurity Architect

Core Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day management and monitoring of security systems after implementation by the cybersecurity teams.
• Perform network observability and threat detection, including security metrics reporting and automation-driven operational workflows to maintain continuous insight into the organization’s security posture.
• Escalate complex changes or advanced troubleshooting to engineering teams.
• Implement and integrate enterprise security technologies, ensuring security policies are enforced across hybrid environments.
• Analyze policy effectiveness and recommend policy adjustments.
• Maintain operational security by ensuring security policies remain enforced across security systems and services.
• Collaborate with engineers for major updates and reconfigurations.
• Use network observability data and security telemetry to support threat detection, validate policy effectiveness, and generate actionable metrics for operational and executive reporting.
• Apply automation workflows to policy enforcement and validation processes where applicable.
• Advise internal teams on security control best practices and align security solutions with business needs.
• Deliver data-driven consulting using metrics and threat intelligence to improve decision-making.
• Provide on-site support for cybersecurity, infrastructure, and business solutions.
• Monitor patch compliance, troubleshoot patch-related security issues, and use telemetry and observability data to identify patch-related risk exposure and improve compliance posture reporting.
• Develop scripts and automation to streamline security solution deployments, with a focus on segmentation and VPN automation.
• Expand workflow observability and metrics reporting pipelines to measure deployment effectiveness and security impact.
• Optimize security tools for better efficiency and integration, including maintaining and managing firewalls, VPNs, and segmentation controls.
• Support the design and implementation of security enforcement technologies and integrate observability and threat detection frameworks into deployed systems to provide performance, risk, and compliance visibility.
• Use automation to enhance monitoring, tuning, and operational response processes.
• Support operational security teams by ensuring technologies are correctly integrated and aligned with enforcement policies.
• Create and advance automation workflows that improve operational efficiency and incident response effectiveness.
• Mentor other analysts and engineers and contribute to process improvements.

Required Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
• Experience: Typically requires 5+ years of progressive cybersecurity experience with a bachelor’s degree, or 3+ years with a master’s degree.
• Substitution: Equivalent professional experience may be substituted in lieu of education.

Preferred Qualifications

• 3-5 years of hands-on cybersecurity experience preferred.
• Some understanding of security practices and threat landscapes.
• Ability to quickly adopt new tools and contribute to process improvement.
• Effective communication skills with end users and technical teams.
• Capability to resolve moderately complex technical issues.
• Works well independently and collaboratively.
• Desired certifications: GSEC, CEH, CySA+, or equivalent intermediate certification.
• Desired experience with Next-Generation Firewall (NGFW) technologies.
• Desired experience with one or more: Python, Powershell, Java, Bash, KQL/SQL.
• Relevant experience/certifications listed: AWS Solutions Architect – Associate, Microsoft Azure Administrator, CompTIA Cloud+, Cisco CCNA, Palo Alto, M365 Security.
