Cybersecurity and IT Governance Lead
Job Description
This contract position will lead the cybersecurity and IT governance function for a DoD cyber mission customer, serving as the contractor’s primary point of contact to the CIO organization in the Baltimore-Washington area. The role focuses on compliance, risk management, audits, crisis response, and third-party security alignment for an onsite environment in Linthicum Heights, Maryland.
Role Overview
As the cybersecurity and IT governance lead, you will implement and sustain security governance practices across the enterprise. You will coordinate compliance frameworks, oversee recurring risk and audit activities, and lead response efforts during major incidents. You will also manage vendor security expectations and support organizational cybersecurity education and training.
Responsibilities
- Implement and maintain enterprise compliance frameworks, including NIST RMF, ISO 27001, and CMMC.
- Oversee recurring cybersecurity risk assessments and vulnerability testing, coordinating internal and external security audits.
- Coordinate work across project teams and manage cross-team dependencies to reduce resource conflicts.
- Lead crisis response during major incidents, including detection, containment, and recovery activities.
- Oversee the selection and management of third-party security vendors, and ensure acquisitions align with the customer’s security standards.
- Drive a security-first culture through organization-wide cybersecurity education and training.
Requirements
- Active TS/SCI clearance at the time of application; U.S. citizenship required.
- Five or more years at a CIO or deputy-CIO level of accountability across: IT leadership and accountability, IT strategic planning, IT workforce planning, IT budgeting (annual and multi-year planning, programming and budgeting), IT investment management, and information security and privacy program leadership.
- Five or more years championing digital equity and accessibility of information and telecommunication technologies for a workforce.

Compensation and Benefits
Pay range: USD 135,000 - 157,000 per year (BWI area, Maryland, onsite).

Clearance Information
- An active TS/SCI clearance (eligibility for access to SCI) is required at the time of application and must be maintained.
