Job Description

Buchanan Technologies is seeking an accomplished cybersecurity and architecture leader to shape and guide the company’s security program from its Dallas operations. This role combines strategic governance of enterprise architecture with hands-on ownership of IAM, incident response, disaster recovery, and security-driven M&A integration across manufacturing and distribution environments.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain enterprise IT architecture standards with cybersecurity embedded at the core.
  • Champion security-by-design principles across infrastructure, applications, and plant operations.
  • Lead the enterprise cybersecurity program end-to-end, including vision, strategy, maturity roadmap, and CAPE controls reporting.
  • Manage budget authority and vendor selection for cybersecurity initiatives.
  • Steer cybersecurity due diligence and integration architecture for M&A activity.
  • Maintain the security onboarding playbook for acquired businesses.
  • Own the IAM architecture and execution roadmap, covering SSO, provisioning, PAM, MFA, access reviews, monitoring, and AD consolidation.
  • Oversee Incident Response, Business Continuity, and Disaster Recovery programs.
  • Develop IR plans, incident playbooks, BIAs, tabletop exercises, RPOs, and RTOs.
  • Partner with and mentor the infrastructure team across M365 hardening, cloud security, network design, and endpoint security.
  • Foster security awareness and a proactive risk-management culture.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of progressive cybersecurity and IT architecture experience.
  • Proven experience owning an enterprise cybersecurity program end to end.
  • Experience with program development, strategy, roadmap, budget authority, and vendor selection.
  • Hands-on security architecture experience across cloud, network, endpoint, and identity.
  • IAM program experience, including SSO, PAM, MFA, and Active Directory in multi-entity or multi-domain environments.
  • M&A cybersecurity experience, including due diligence, integration planning, and onboarding.
  • Strong leadership presence with the ability to mentor technical teams.
  • Experience with cyber risk management, compliance, and frameworks such as NIST CSF, ISO, or CIS Controls.
  • Ability to communicate cybersecurity risk and strategy to executives and board-level audiences.

Compensation

Hourly rate: $80 - $100

Preferred Qualifications

  • Manufacturing or industrial environment experience.
  • OT/ICS security and shop floor network segmentation experience.
  • Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, SABSA, or equivalent.
  • Advanced degree.
  • Demonstrated steady career progression with promotions and tenure.
