Cybersecurity Analyst - Junior Level - ONSITE - an Active Top SECRET required

What you’ll do
As a junior-level Cybersecurity Analyst, you will support the security posture of federal systems through monitoring, incident investigation, and hands-on cyber defense activities. The role combines day-to-day network security work with incident response support, including forensic and technical analysis tasks.
- Monitor computer networks for security issues and identify potential vulnerabilities.
- Investigate security breaches and other cybersecurity incidents.
- Document security breaches and assess the damage they cause.
- Partner with the security team to perform tests and uncover network vulnerabilities, including penetration testing.
- Fix detected vulnerabilities to maintain a high-security standard.
- Recommend best practices for IT security.
- Install and operate security measures and software to protect systems and infrastructure, including firewalls and data encryption programs.
- Conduct analysis, confirm intrusion information, and create a forensically sound duplicate of relevant files.
- Decrypt data and provide technical summaries and input.
- Examine recovered data for relevant information, performing dynamic analysis including timeline, statistical, and file signature analysis.
- Perform real-time cyber defense handling tasks that support deployable Incident Response Teams (IRTs).
Requirements
- 3 years of total professional experience.
- Splunk Enterprise Security.
- US Citizenship with an active ACTIVE TOP SECRET clearance (required for subcontract work on a project with a Major Prime).
Schedule
WED–SAT 6AM–4PM (about Wed through Sat, 10 hours per day). You may need to add an additional 30 minutes of personal time for break.
Compensation
Negotiable based on standard factors including experience, education, degree, and certifications. The company may also consider candidates who prefer 1099 on a case-by-case basis.
