Job Description

The Cybersecurity Analyst III position at ARES Corporation is an onsite role in Huntsville, Alabama supporting security assessment and improvement efforts for a ballistic missile defense program. The role focuses on threat, vulnerability, and capability maturity evaluation, along with related risk and software assurance activities.

Role Overview

In this position, you will support security control assessment, vulnerability assessment, software assurance, and risk assessment work. You will conduct threat and capability maturity assessments, identify gaps, and contribute to implementation plans intended to strengthen cybersecurity across large defense systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct research, analysis, and data gathering while performing threat, vulnerability, and capability maturity assessments.
  • Apply critical thinking to perform gap analyses and develop implementation plans to improve cybersecurity in large, complex defense systems.
  • Support teams responsible for security control assessments, vulnerability assessments, software assurance, and risk assessments.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Senior cybersecurity certification from one of the following: CASP+ CE, CCNP Security, CISA, CISSP, GCED, or GCIH.
  • Active DoD Clearance Required.
  • Proficiency in technical services and analysis, including knowledge of cybersecurity standards, principles, practices, and processes.
  • Experience supporting key cybersecurity activities such as vulnerability assessments, control development, security plan documentation, penetration testing, and the Risk Management Framework (RMF).
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity tools including Nessus, Burp Suite, Nmap, ACAS, and other tools.

Security and Technical Tools

The role aligns with the following certifications and technologies: CASP+ CE, CCNP Security, CISA, CISSP, GCED, GCIH, Nessus, Burp Suite, Nmap, ACAS, and the Risk Management Framework (RMF).

Location and Compensation

  • Location: Huntsville, AL (onsite)
  • Salary: USD 130,000 - 145,000 per year
