Responsibilities

  • Complete tasks to secure the organization s online systems and digital assets.
  • Protect against unauthorized access, modification, or destruction of digital assets.
  • Develop IT security policies and standards.
  • Collaborate with end users to identify cybersecurity needs for individual departments.
  • Apply knowledge of Internet architecture and firewall configurations to safeguard system security.
  • Proactively assess threat information, analyze its relevance to the organization, and implement measures to prevent or mitigate threats.
  • May authorize user access and be familiar with domain structures and digital signatures.
  • Model and support behaviors aligned with Billings Clinic s mission, values, and code of conduct.
  • Meet mandatory organizational and departmental requirements and maintain competency in applicable standards related to environment, safety or job performance.
  • Evaluate tools for security issues and assess new products as needed.
  • Advise on IT initiatives, IT business projects, and IT engineering regarding security best practices.
  • Analyze cyber network events and determine impact on operations using all-source intelligence.
  • Keep current on security threat levels by monitoring internet postings, intelligence reports, and related sources.
  • Implement and monitor controls to ensure processes effectively protect the environment from malicious cyber activity.
  • Determine when security events should be escalated to incidents and follow incident response and reporting procedures.
  • Research emerging security technologies for applicability to the organization.
  • Collaborate with other security team members to augment roles and advise on issues.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to meet department and organizational needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Assurance, Cyber Security or a related field.
  • At least 5 years in a technical role within healthcare or a related field.
  • Strong experience with Information System Security (ISS), PKI, firewalls, intrusion detection/protection and related vulnerability assessment tools for network periphery and internal network/service discovery and topology mapping.
  • Working knowledge of technologies including forensic tools, network monitoring tools, and host security prevention tools.
  • Self-motivated with a habit of monitoring news and threat reports to identify potential risks to the organization.
  • Experience with cloud security technologies is a plus.
  • CISSP, CCSP, CEH, SSCP, Security+ or Certificate in Cyber Security or related certifications strongly preferred.
  • Or an equivalent combination of education and experience relating to the above tasks, knowledge, skills and abilities.
  • Employees who require licensure or certification must be properly licensed/certified and in good standing.
