Job Description

Benda Infotech is seeking a Cybersecurity Analyst to strengthen its information security operations. This hybrid role in Chicago, IL focuses on day-to-day monitoring, threat investigation, and incident support, while helping the team keep IT systems secure through controls, assessments, and continuous improvement.

You will work with security tooling and security frameworks to support a safer environment, including vulnerability assessments, network monitoring, and documentation of security activities. A bachelor’s degree is required, and experience from internships or entry-level roles is welcome.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor security alerts and events using Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) tools
  • Identify, investigate, and respond to potential cybersecurity incidents
  • Perform vulnerability assessments and assist with remediation efforts
  • Monitor network traffic to detect suspicious or malicious activity
  • Assist in implementing and maintaining security controls, policies, and procedures
  • Support endpoint protection, firewall, antivirus, and email security solutions
  • Conduct security audits and help ensure compliance with organizational security standards
  • Assist with user access management, identity, and access control processes
  • Document security incidents, investigations, and remediation activities
  • Collaborate with IT teams to strengthen infrastructure security and resolve security issues
  • Stay current with emerging cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and industry best practices

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related field
  • 0–2 years of experience in cybersecurity, IT support, network administration, or information security (internships acceptable)
  • Basic understanding of networking concepts including TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, and Firewalls
  • Familiarity with operating systems including Windows and Linux
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity principles, threat detection, and incident response
  • Understanding of common cyber threats such as phishing, malware, ransomware, and social engineering
  • Basic knowledge of security tools such as SIEM, antivirus, endpoint protection, or vulnerability scanners is preferred
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Willingness to learn new security technologies and industry best practices

  • SIEM: Splunk, Microsoft Sentinel
  • Microsoft security: Microsoft Defender
  • Analysis and scanning: Wireshark, Nessus, Qualys
  • Endpoint and network security: CrowdStrike, Palo Alto Firewalls
  • Scripting and automation: PowerShell, Python, Bash
  • Cloud: AWS, Azure, Google Cloud
  • Security frameworks/controls: NIST, ISO 27001, CIS Controls
  • Preferred certification examples: CompTIA Security+, Google Cybersecurity Certificate, ISC2 Certified in Cybersecurity (CC)
  • Additional tools referenced: Microsoft Office applications

Working Conditions

  • Primarily office-based or remote/hybrid work environment
  • Occasional after-hours support during security incidents or maintenance windows
  • May participate in on-call rotations for incident response
