Cybersecurity Analyst
Job Description
Phoenix Cyber is seeking a Cybersecurity Analyst for a remote role supporting SOC and client delivery activities. The position centers on monitoring, investigating, and responding to security events and incidents, with responsibilities that include reporting, communications, and SOC Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) development.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze network traffic, Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS), security events, and logs, prioritizing potential intrusion attempts and distinguishing them from false alarms.
- Develop, maintain, and adhere to SOC Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Support daily and monthly situation reporting aligned to each shift.
- Proactively review large data sets to identify anomalous activity.
- Create detective content for monitoring devices including IDS and SIEM, and advise on proactive blocks as part of security architecture.
- Create and track security investigations through resolution.
- Draft security alert notifications and other role-related communications.
- Advise incident responders on investigation and resolution steps for computer security incidents.
- Maintain current awareness of vulnerabilities, attacks, and countermeasures.
- Fulfill the shift schedule requirement for this position.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree
- Three (3) years of experience in security
- Experience in incident response
- CompTIA CySA+, CompTIA Security+, or CISSP
- Ability to obtain a government clearance
- Capability to multitask and maintain equal attention to multiple functions under pressure
