Job Description

The Cyber Security Engineer role supports the protection of organizational systems, networks, and data through continuous monitoring, threat investigation, and incident response. The position is based in Texas with an onsite work arrangement.

Role Overview

As a Cyber Security Engineer, you will monitor security systems and alerts, investigate potential threats, and participate in responding to security incidents. The role also includes performing vulnerability assessments, supporting remediation, and using SIEM-driven detection to identify suspicious activity. You will contribute to security documentation and incident reporting while assisting with compliance and security controls.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor security alerts and investigate potential security threats.
  • Identify, analyze, and respond to security incidents.
  • Perform vulnerability assessments and support remediation activities.
  • Monitor network traffic, logs, and security events.
  • Use SIEM tooling to detect and investigate suspicious activities.
  • Assist with endpoint, network, and cloud security activities.
  • Conduct security assessments and support compliance requirements.
  • Maintain security documentation and incident reports.
  • Collaborate with IT and development teams to implement security controls.
  • Stay current on emerging cybersecurity threats and security best practices.

Required Qualifications

  • Knowledge of cybersecurity concepts, threats, and vulnerabilities.
  • Experience with SIEM tools such as Splunk, Microsoft Sentinel, or QRadar.
  • Knowledge of firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and network security.
  • Understanding of Windows and Linux operating systems.
  • Knowledge of vulnerability assessment and penetration testing concepts.
  • Familiarity with endpoint security tools.
  • Basic cloud security knowledge (AWS/Azure) is preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication and documentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Location: Texas (onsite)

Experience: 2+ years minimum

Compensation: USD 45 to 50 per hour
