Job Description

Booz Allen Hamilton is seeking a Cloud Security Engineer to design and implement secure cloud architectures for the Intelligence Community. This onsite role is based in Reston, Virginia and centers on ensuring information assurance and security compliance while aligning with RMF across cloud, on‑premises, and hybrid environments.

Responsibilities

  • Review and assist with the documentation, validation, assessment, and accreditation activities needed to ensure IT systems meet information assurance and security requirements.
  • Help define target state and risk tolerances, then analyze current state data to measure compliance.
  • Provide guidance on translating strategic objectives into formal doctrine and procedures to support those objectives.
  • Assist in evaluating software applications and utilities to determine adherence to software assurance best practices.
  • Recommend tooling and capabilities based on assessment of the current environment and familiarity with on‑premises, cloud‑based, and hybrid resources to meet security needs.
  • Implement the cloud security architectures, tools, and processes you helped shape and define.
  • Collaborate with IC clients to verify that security standards and requirements are met.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience building and administering cloud environments, leveraging cloud‑native features, COTS, GOTS, and open‑source tools to meet objectives.
  • Experience developing and evaluating security documentation, including system security plans, contingency plans, security procedures, and continuity of operations plans.
  • Experience with security architecture evaluations, guidance development, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with the Risk Management Framework (RMF).
  • Experience working in an Agile development environment.
  • Knowledge of infrastructure as code concepts such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Bicep.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance; willingness to undergo a polygraph exam.
  • Educational requirements: Associate’s degree with 5+ years of IT project support, Bachelor’s degree with 3+ years, or Master’s degree with 1+ year of IT project support.
  • Ability to obtain a DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (eg, Security+ CE, CCNA‑Security, GSEC, SSCP, CySA+, GICSP, or CND) within 30 days of the start date.

The Opportunity

Cloud security professionals help organizations harness the cloud while maintaining robust protections. In this role you will assess requirements and implement measures that safeguard information systems from unauthorized access or destruction, contributing to cloud‑based security architectures for some of the IC's most mission‑critical systems.

Clearance

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; TS/SCI clearance is required.

Compensation

The projected compensation range for this position is $99,000.00 to $225,000.00 (annualized USD). Booz Allen determines salary based on location, education, experience, and other factors; the stated range represents typical compensation for this role as part of Booz Allen’s total compensation package.

Work Model

Our people‑first culture emphasizes collaboration whether in person or virtually. Remote employees are generally expected to keep cameras on during meetings. Onsite work means primarily at a Booz Allen or customer facility, with occasional visits to client sites. Hybrid roles typically require frequent presence at a Booz Allen facility in alignment with the role’s needs.
