Application Security Engineer

As an Application Security Engineer on Amazon’s Information Security team, you’ll review critical application systems, build security solutions, and respond to vulnerabilities while supporting an on-call rotation.

Responsibilities

• Preserve Amazon customer trust through application security reviews and secure engineering practices
• Conduct application security reviews for critical systems and services
• Engineer security solutions to protect systems, networks, and applications
• Perform security design and testing for the most critical Amazon applications
• Respond to security violations, vulnerabilities, and event detection systems
• Provide security policy guidance and security consultations
• Evangelize security internally and act as an advocate for customer trust
• Participate in an on-call rotation
• Support Amazon builders with security guidance and troubleshooting
• Develop and deliver projects that raise the security bar at scale
• Work with partner teams, stakeholders, and builders to drive security improvements across the company
• Troubleshoot, maintain, and improve internal team tooling to reduce overhead and improve efficiency

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in web protocols, common security attacks, and remediation (non-internship)
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
• Knowledge of system security vulnerabilities and remediation techniques, including penetration testing and the development of exploits (or equivalent)
• Experience solving basic problems by writing code or scripts with some assistance
• Experience with AWS services or other cloud offerings

Salary: USD 136,000 - 184,000 per yearly

Minimum Experience: 2 years
