Application Security (AppSec) Engineer - AI Trainer
Job Description
DataAnnotation is seeking an experienced Application Security (AppSec) Engineer to join as an AI Trainer on a remote contract. In this role, you will assess AI-generated security content, craft security-focused challenges for AI training, and provide feedback that helps shape the next generation of cybersecurity-focused AI models. The position offers flexible scheduling and hourly compensation.
Responsibilities
- Assess AI-generated cybersecurity outputs, including threat analyses, vulnerability assessments, and offensive security techniques, for real-world accuracy and applicability.
- Design and solve security-focused technical problems used to train AI systems.
- Produce clear technical explanations and security-relevant code.
- Provide feedback that directly informs the evolution of AI security models.
Requirements
- 2+ years of hands-on experience in a cybersecurity role, such as penetration testing, red teaming, incident response, detection engineering, DFIR, malware analysis, threat intelligence, or related fields (including government or military cyber operations).
- Some coding experience and comfort navigating and patching a codebase.
- Fluency in English with strong writing skills.
- A bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- Cybersecurity certifications are a plus (e.g., OSCP, CRTO, GREM, GCFA, CEH, and similar).
