Job Description

Booz Allen Hamilton invites you to contribute as a Virtru Security Engineer, helping to strengthen zero-trust security across networks at different classification levels and to automate security controls and monitoring within cloud environments. This onsite role at Scott AFB, Illinois, emphasizes shaping cyber architecture, collaborating with stakeholders and engineering teams to understand process dependencies and user roles, and advancing automation to protect critical systems.

Responsibilities

  • Support the cyber architecture development, implementation, and sustainment across multiple networks of different classification levels.
  • Interface with stakeholders and engineering teams to delve into the details and dependencies of critical processes and users’ roles within them.
  • Lead security compliance initiatives and automation of control validation across cloud environments using Infrastructure as Code, including Terraform or Ansible.
  • Build security automation for CI/CD pipelines, including vulnerability scanning and compliance validation.
  • Conduct regular security reviews and risk assessments of cloud infrastructure and applications.
  • Collaborate with development and operations teams to implement security controls without impeding velocity.
  • Develop and maintain security monitoring solutions and respond to security events.
  • Create and maintain security documentation, training, and guidelines for engineering teams.

  • Experience designing, deploying, and configuring data security solutions
  • Experience with data security tools such as Virtru
  • Experience with data-centric security models, including maintenance
  • Experience designing, implementing, configuring, operating, or testing IT systems or security infrastructure
  • Experience deploying and troubleshooting Kubernetes and Docker
  • Experience with data tagging and classification
  • Knowledge of Zero Trust principles and solutions
  • Secret clearance

The Opportunity

In this capacity you will play a pivotal role in zero trust initiatives, supporting the development, implementation, and sustainment of cyber architecture across networks with varying classifications. You will engage with stakeholders and engineering teams to explore the details and dependencies of critical processes and the roles of users within them.

You have

  • Experience designing, deploying, and configuring data security solutions
  • Experience with data security tools such as Virtru
  • Experience with data-centric security models, including maintenance
  • Experience designing, implementing, configuring, operating, or testing IT systems or security infrastructure
  • Experience deploying and troubleshooting Kubernetes and Docker
  • Experience with data tagging and classification
  • Knowledge of Zero Trust principles and solutions
  • Secret clearance
  • HS diploma or GED

Nice if you have

  • Experience with Data Security Posture Management (DSPM) such as BigID, Forcepoint, Ping, or SailPoint
  • Experience in security automation using Terraform or Ansible, and languages such as Go, Python, or Node.js
  • Experience with infrastructure scanning tools and security monitoring solutions, such as CNAP, SIEM, CSPM, and CWPP
  • Knowledge of federal or DoD information security policies, standards, procedures, directives, frameworks, and security authorizations for enterprise systems
  • Completion of DoD 8140 requirements

Clearance

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Secret clearance is required.

Compensation

Work Model

  • Remote: Remote work may apply, with occasional in-person requirements at Booz Allen or a customer facility.
  • Hybrid: Frequent work from a Booz Allen facility, with possible visits to customer facilities.
  • Onsite: Primary work at a Booz Allen office or customer facility, with collaboration duties as required.
