Staff Portfolio Manager, Cybersecurity Operations

GEICO is seeking a Staff Cybersecurity Operations and Portfolio Manager to lead cybersecurity technology programs and projects. This onsite role in Seattle, Washington focuses on portfolio governance, performance measurement, risk and dependency management, financial oversight, and executive stakeholder engagement.

Role Overview

In this position, you will manage the cybersecurity portfolio framework from planning through execution. You will define and track KPIs for portfolio health, value delivery, and risk, provide governance and process improvements, and support ROI analysis for initiatives. You will also communicate portfolio status and decisions to senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and evolve the cybersecurity portfolio management framework to ensure portfolio investments align with strategic objectives.
• Define and track portfolio KPIs covering health, value delivery, and risk, and present reporting and dashboards to senior leadership aligned to organizational goals.
• Identify, assess, and manage risks and dependencies across the portfolio; develop mitigation strategies and escalate critical issues as needed.
• Oversee portfolio budgets, track financial performance, and support ROI analysis for proposed and ongoing initiatives.
• Define, implement, and continuously improve portfolio management processes, standards, and governance structures to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
• Engage and communicate with senior leaders, project managers, technology and product owners, and other stakeholders regarding portfolio status, decisions, and performance.

Required Qualifications

• Proven experience managing complex portfolios of projects or products, including prioritization, resource allocation, risk management, and performance tracking.
• Demonstrated ability to operate strategically and influence senior-level leadership and key stakeholders.
• Strong financial acumen, including budget management and ROI analysis experience in a portfolio context.
• Exceptional analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to synthesize complex information and produce executive-level presentations.
• Strong organization, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with NIST, ISO, NYDFS, PCI, FFIEC, NAIC, and other relevant regulations and standards.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.

Additional Experience

• 5+ years of cybersecurity experience in the insurance industry or related fields such as finance or other highly regulated industries.
• 7+ years of experience in technology portfolio, program, and project management.
• 7+ years of experience with agile development and strategic planning.
• 5+ years of experience in stakeholder or partner management.

• Azure OpenAI

Preferred Experience and Certifications

• Project management certifications such as SAFe Program Consultant (SPC), PMI-PMP, AI Product Manager (for example, from DeepLearning.AI), or Responsible AI certifications.
• Cybersecurity certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, GIAC, or related information security certifications.
• Familiarity with enterprise AI platforms (including Azure OpenAI).
• Familiarity with GenAI and AI agents in enterprise use cases.

Compensation

• Annual salary range: $110,000.00 - $230,000.00
