Job Description
The Senior Vehicle Platform Cybersecurity Engineer leads cyber architecture, evaluation, testing, and compliance activities across US ground combat platforms, while providing engineering management support to the platform Chief Engineer and maintaining eligibility for a US security clearance. This on site role is based in Sterling Heights, Michigan.

Responsibilities
- Lead cyber activities to integrate cross-functional technical scope within project schedules and constraints, ensuring a balanced, integrated, and compliant cyber design across the vehicle system.
- Develop and promote platform level cyber-physical design practices, tools, and training across engineering and program disciplines to foster a cyber security culture within the organization.
- Define and manage system requirements and interface allocations, including Performance, Space, Weight and Power-Cooling, Reliability and Maintenance SWaP-CRaM, and document compliance through system specifications.
- Coordinate requirements, architectures, and system designs and manage changes, tradeoffs, inputs, and final resolutions.
- Perform trade studies for system and subsystem design to assess impacts on space, weight, power, cost, reliability, and performance within a cyber vehicle suite.
- Oversee development and execution of verification plans, including test, production, and field site shakedown and verification activities.
- Participate in and lead design troubleshooting, root cause corrective action, and issue resolution for production, development, and testing projects.
- Develop and assess milestone artifacts and Contract Data Requirements List (CDRLs), ensuring technical accuracy and contractual compliance.
- Collaborate with platform Design IPTs on interfaces, threat analysis, requirements decomposition, and compliance efforts where interdependencies exist.
- Evaluate new cyber and C5ISR technologies for potential adoption on products.
- Engage in peer reviews and contribute to technical rigor across programs.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering or related science, or equivalent; relevant cyber technical certificates and management credentials considered.
- Minimum 7+ years of professional experience.
- Experience with engineering and military projects.
- Proficiency with Cameo Systems Modeler and modeling languages such as SysML.
- Experience with embedded system engineering in cyber space.
- Experience with Threat Analysis and Risk Assessment (TARA).
- Experience with Cyber Tabletop Exercise (CTTX) drills.
- Knowledge of federal regulations and standards, including NIST SP 800-37 and NIST SP 800-53.
- Ability to prepare and maintain System Security Plans (SSPs), Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&Ms), and related documentation.
- Experience leading technical development teams.
- Background in military vehicle development and integration.
- Skill in interpreting higher level customer requirements and translating them to technology areas.
- Experience developing and managing system-level cyber requirements.
- Familiarity with electrical line replaceable units and hardware development and troubleshooting.
- Experience with cyber warfare, offensive or defensive operations.
- Background in embedded systems, automotive and military contexts.
- Strong foundation in software and computer science principles.
- Familiarity with cyber-physical system security requirements.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Project).
- Willingness to travel domestically, with possible international trips, up to 15%.
- Eligibility for a US security clearance is required.
- Ability to climb on/off, work in, and around military vehicles may be required; must be able to pass Anthropometric Size Requirements for confined spaces.
