Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Support information system security engineering activities to ensure security requirements are defined, implemented and tested for complex multi-level security architectures of an advanced USSF system.
  • Apply cybersecurity risk management framework principles to the development of integrated weapon systems.
  • Assist with assessment and authorization activities to ensure security control assessments understand the weapon system and provide timely recommendations to the authorizing official based on requirements, security impact levels, and the projected operational environment.
  • Evaluate threats and vulnerabilities to integrated weapon and information systems to ensure security controls effectively mitigate exploitation risk.
  • Develop cybersecurity-related acquisition documentation to support the program management office and contracting officers.
  • Conduct and report on independent assessments to verify compliance, such as software Certification to Field (CTF); this is a full-time onsite role in Huntsville with frequent US travel.
  • Guide the development and implementation of cybersecurity for an integrated weapon system.
  • Develop and test for Cloud Ground Environment and ensure Software Assurance of Mission Unique Software.
  • Support information system security authorization to operate.

Requirements

  • Firm understanding of DoD 8500.1-M and NIST SPs 800-37, 800-53, 800-218, and 800-190.
  • Expertise in cloud as-a-service architecture components and how to assess them against NIST SP controls.
  • Strong grasp of end-to-end zero-trust architecture solutions in a DoD context.
  • Ability to evaluate DevSecOps processes, agile methodologies, and CI/CD pipelines to embed cybersecurity requirements early in development.
  • Adept at partnering with software developers and engineers to provide technical oversight for secure system component design.
  • Proven research capability and willingness to learn new technologies, including public and private cloud solutions in multi-level environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to assess and articulate risk to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • History of identifying unique mitigations for diverse security challenges across systems.
  • Technical proficiency in at least one security domain (space systems, cloud, software, or networking).
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Certifications: CISSP, CCSP, CEH, and AWS or another cloud security certification.
  • 14+ years of related technical experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technology is required.
  • Specialized information assurance experience is required.
