Senior Software Security Engineer

Raytheon’s Software Product Assurance team is hiring a Senior Software Security Engineer in El Segundo, CA. The role focuses on applying software security principles to embedded real-time sensor software while supporting SW Product Assurance process adherence and verification activities tied to system maturity, with a DoD Secret clearance requirement.

Compensation

• Salary Range: USD 95,500 - 181,700 per year
• Note: The salary range is a good faith estimate and may vary based on role, function, responsibilities, experience, location, education/training, and key skills

Minimum Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum 5 years of relevant software experience
• Education: Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM)
• Security Clearance: Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance required prior to start date
• Eligibility: U.S. citizenship required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
• Clearance Status: Active and existing security clearance required on day 1

Responsibilities

• Implement software security principles across embedded software design, development, integration, and testing for real-time sensor software
• Develop software applications using C and C++ on a range of computing platforms
• Ensure SW Product Assurance processes are followed across assigned programs
• Apply understanding of real-time software design and performance implications related to specific System Security implementations
• Collaborate with cross-functional Engineering teams to define and implement Test Driven Multidisciplinary Capability (TDMC) based execution development and deployment requirements
• Work within a common development environment to enable program teams to leverage specific capabilities
• Interface with the customer community to review technical design and support verification of system maturity

• Agile/Scrum/Kanban frameworks and DevSecOps environments
• Knowledge of modern computer architecture and hardware technologies including ARM architecture; interface protocols (PCIe, GPIO, I2C, SATA); FPGAs; ASICs
• Using software configuration management and bug tracking tools
• Experience with validation and verification of software applications

DCSA Consolidated Adjudication Services (DCSA), an agency of the Department of Defense, handles and adjudicates the security clearance process.
