If you want to work on real-world security outcomes, you will research and build next-generation platform protections for connected vehicles, focusing on low-level hardware and firmware security.
What you’ll do
- Research, design, and develop next-generation technologies to strengthen vehicle access security and help prevent theft, unauthorized use, and system compromise
- Build platform trust starting at the lowest levels of the stack, beginning with hardware and firmware
- Lead work from concept and experimentation through prototyping, validation, production implementation, and deployment
- Partner with hardware, embedded software, systems, and product engineering teams to turn security concepts into deployable solutions
- Design and develop secure platform capabilities covering device identity, trusted execution, authentication, cryptography, and hardware-backed security
- Investigate emerging attack techniques targeting connected and electronic vehicle systems and develop defenses
- Assess how attackers may bypass, clone, replay, emulate, or manipulate vehicle access technologies and develop countermeasures
- Create proof-of-concept solutions and advanced prototypes that advance automotive security
- Contribute to platform architecture decisions that influence long-term security for future vehicle products
- Address complex technical challenges at the intersection of hardware, firmware, cryptography, and embedded systems
What you bring
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or other relevant technical discipline
- 6-8+ years of overall related engineering experience
- Strong background developing firmware, embedded software, platform software, or other low-level systems near the hardware layer
- Deep understanding of secure boot, root of trust, chain of trust, trusted execution environments, device identity, and hardware-backed security concepts
- Proficiency in C and C++
- Experience with microcontrollers, SoCs, embedded processors, or security-focused hardware architectures
- Knowledge of cryptography, authentication protocols, key management, secure provisioning, and secure communications
- Experience designing security solutions for automotive systems, connected devices, IoT products, wireless technologies, cellular platforms, or telecommunications equipment
- Familiarity with bootloaders, firmware architecture, embedded Linux, operating system startup processes, and platform initialization
