Senior Penetration Tester
Job Description
Matlen Silver is hiring a Senior Penetration Tester (W2) for a fully remote, 3-month contract.
Responsibilities
- Run penetration tests across web applications, APIs, infrastructure, cloud environments, and Active Directory
- Identify, exploit, and validate security vulnerabilities using industry-standard tools and techniques
- Execute vulnerability assessments and security testing aligned to established penetration testing methodologies and frameworks
- Validate remediation efforts and confirm identified vulnerabilities are appropriately addressed
- Create professional penetration testing reports covering technical findings, risk descriptions, evidence, and remediation recommendations
- Manage multiple assessments and deliverables while meeting project timelines and testing commitments
- Communicate security findings and recommendations effectively to technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Keep up with emerging attack techniques, vulnerabilities, and offensive security practices
Requirements
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in penetration testing, offensive security, red teaming, or a related cybersecurity discipline
- Proven experience testing web applications, APIs, infrastructure, cloud environments, and Active Directory
- Strong understanding of common attack techniques, vulnerability assessment methodologies, and penetration testing frameworks
- Experience using industry-standard penetration testing tools and techniques
- Ability to identify, exploit, validate, and clearly document security vulnerabilities
- Experience producing detailed penetration testing reports with actionable remediation recommendations
- Independently manage multiple assessments and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills

- Pay rate: $75/hour
- Hourly range: USD 75 - 78 per hourly
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with AI security testing
- Experience with mainframe security testing
- Experience in banking, financial services, or other highly regulated industries
- Cloud security assessment experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Advanced offensive security certifications such as OSCP, OSEP, OSWE, OSED, GXPN, or CPTS
