Macquarie Group Limited is seeking a Senior Manager to support its Non-Financial Risk function as the primary second line of defence point of contact for Cybersecurity, Technology, Artificial Intelligence, Information Security and Data Risk across the Commodities and Global Markets Group in the Americas.
Role summary
As part of the Non-Financial Risk team, this position provides independent challenge and oversight over risk outputs and incidents. The Senior Manager will review and challenge risk reporting, assess significant incidents and key risk indicators, and oversee key initiatives that support Macquarie’s Operational Risk Framework strategy across the region.
Key responsibilities
- Act as the primary second line of defence point of contact for Cybersecurity, Technology, Artificial Intelligence, Information Security and Data Risk matters for the Commodities and Global Markets Group, including Tech and Market Services stakeholders across the Americas.
- Represent the Non-Financial Risk team in relevant Americas management forums and committees, providing independent challenge and oversight on regional risk matters.
- Provide insight and advice on best practice approaches to the design, measurement, analysis, evaluation, and reporting of Cybersecurity, Technology, Artificial Intelligence, Information Security and Data Risk.
- Review and challenge reporting, risk assessments, significant incidents, key risk indicators, and assurance activities to support effective identification and management of key risks.
- Oversee analysis of non-financial risk data to identify risk themes, strengthen risk management outcomes, and build awareness of key risk management policies through training and stakeholder engagement.
- Oversee key projects supporting Macquarie’s Operational Risk Framework strategy.
- Establish and maintain a formal engagement model with internal stakeholders and service providers.
- Review new business initiatives and support responses to requests from regulators, auditors, and senior management.
Required skills and experience
- 10+ years’ experience in non-financial risk within dynamic, regulated financial institutions or financial services firms, including exposure to technology, cybersecurity, and risk management in commodities trading, financing, and financial markets.
- Strong knowledge and practical application of technology risk frameworks, industry practices, and the regulatory environment in which Macquarie operates.
- Analytical and commercially minded risk experience with the ability to make sound recommendations on operational risk issues and form an independent view of the organization’s risk profile.
- Ability to review and challenge technical detail while maintaining a broader perspective to identify and mitigate material risks.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the confidence to lead and challenge risk management discussions with senior stakeholders in a global matrixed organization.
- Relevant tertiary qualification; certifications such as CRISC, CISA, or CCSP are desirable.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively while sustaining high performance in fast paced, output focused environments.
