Role Summary
A Security Engineer concentrating on cloud security controls spanning Alphabet's multi-cloud footprint. The position involves establishing and enforcing security controls and partnering with diverse teams to improve security readiness and support secure development practices.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to designing and delivering secure, high-quality engineering solutions for Alphabet's multi-cloud infrastructure, taking ownership of defined features and components.
- Implement cloud security controls and maintain clear, well-lit paths that balance developer velocity with security requirements.
- Work with cross-functional partners to integrate and support the enforcement of security controls within assigned project scopes.
- Identify technical improvements to existing security controls and contribute to the refinement of security standards across cloud initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 2 years of experience with security assessments, security design reviews, or threat modeling.
- At least 2 years of experience in security engineering, computer and network security, and security protocols.
- At least 2 years of coding experience in one or more general purpose programming languages.
