Security Engineer III

The Security Engineer III role at Credit One Bank is focused on strengthening day-to-day security operations by supporting Security Analysts, deploying and maintaining security tooling, and contributing to the troubleshooting and improvement of network security solutions.

Location and Role Overview

Las Vegas, NV (onsite). Minimum 3 years of relevant experience is required. The primary objective of the Security Engineer is to support Security Analysts, deploy new security tools, and maintain existing security tools.

Key Responsibilities

• Track and ensure remediation of technical items identified through the vulnerability management program, audits, penetration testing, and similar sources.
• Participate in operational management of security systems.
• Assist with troubleshooting and resolving a wide range of security issues.
• Conduct continual, daily research on security developments, including threat levels, new exploits, and vulnerability research.
• Develop and maintain security design and configuration documentation to support effective network solution delivery and ongoing improvements.
• Collaborate with IT and other teams to address gaps in security controls or solutions.
• Participate in implementing security best practices and platforms.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in both offensive and defensive security tactics.
• Extensive knowledge of hardware systems, system software, networks, and application software development lifecycle methodologies.
• Ability to create architectural documentation for new and existing projects.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Strong teamwork ethic, with the ability to work with personnel at all levels across departments.
• Familiarity with audit and compliance functions.
• Good knowledge of computer terminology.
• Understanding of NIST standards and experience implementing controls mandated by those standards.
• An inquiring, analytical mindset, with the ability to provide effective feedback when appropriate.
• Ability to work independently with guidance only in the most sophisticated situations.
