Job Description

Boeing’s Product Security Engineering (PSE) organization is seeking a mid-level Product Security Engineer to support Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) cybersecurity lifecycle teams in North Charleston, South Carolina (onsite). This role helps improve product security across the product lifecycle, with emphasis on sustainment activities and coordination with certification and testing stakeholders.

This position offers competitive base pay and variable compensation opportunities, along with a Total Rewards package that includes comprehensive health and financial benefits.

Pay range: USD 128,350 - 173,650 per year. Pay is based on candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Responsibilities

  • Assess risks, threats, and vulnerabilities of product assets and production systems in line with accepted industry, professional, and government standards to support security design integrity, availability, confidentiality, and regulatory compliance.
  • Develop security requirements and coordinate with systems stakeholders to align solutions across the broader engineering effort.
  • Create technical data and documentation according to system security engineering processes and procedures for both internal reference and external delivery.
  • Coordinate with penetration testers to validate coverage and impacts to analysis.
  • Review developed certification artifacts with FAA and Engineering Unit Members.
  • Develop effective and innovative technical solutions while considering consequences of judgments made individually and through teams.
  • Perform or lead sustainment activities development, implementation, and communication to help ensure continued product security, safety, and resiliency of digitally-connected, in-service airplanes.
  • Oversee configuration management and security of data, networks, and resources used to maintain continued product security and resiliency of in-service models.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement.
  • 5+ years of related work experience in systems engineering, systems integration, software engineering, electrical engineering, certification, or product security.
  • Experience coordinating and presenting technical content to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Comprehensive understanding of airplane systems and networks.

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience in cybersecurity, security network architecture, embedded systems security, security testing and evaluation, or network design.
  • Comprehensive understanding of DO-326B, DO-356A, and DO-355.
  • Technical leadership with a positive and curious mindset.
  • Security certifications including, but not limited to: CISSP, Security+, CEH, CCNA, UNIX/LINUX System Administration, GIAC GPEN, GWAPT, or GXPN, OSCE, OSCP.
