Job Description

DataAnnotation is seeking a Product Security Engineer - AI Trainer to support the training of AI models for cybersecurity use cases. This remote contract role focuses on reviewing AI-generated security material and addressing security-focused technical challenges that improve model quality.

Work is paid on an hourly basis and scheduled flexibly around the projects you choose. To move forward, you will complete a short assessment.

What you’ll do

  • Review AI-generated cybersecurity content, including threat analysis, vulnerability assessments, and offensive security techniques, to verify real-world accuracy and validity.
  • Build and solve security-focused technical problems that are used to train AI systems.
  • Produce clear technical explanations and security-relevant code.
  • Deliver feedback that directly informs the next generation of AI security models.

What you bring

  • 2+ years of hands-on experience in a cybersecurity role, such as penetration testing, red teaming, incident response, detection engineering, DFIR, malware analysis, threat intelligence, or adjacent work, including government or military cyber operations.
  • Some coding experience; you should be comfortable navigating and patching a codebase.
  • English fluency (native or bilingual level) and strong writing skills.
  • A bachelor’s degree is preferred.
  • Cybersecurity certifications are a plus, including OSCP, CRTO, GREM, GCFA, CEH, or similar.

Contract details and pay

  • Location: West Virginia (remote).
  • Job type: Contract.
  • Pay: USD 50 to 100 per hour.
  • Bonuses: higher bonus rates may be available for certain projects.

Remote flexibility

  • Fully remote: work from anywhere in the US, Canada, UK, Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand.
  • Flexible schedule: select projects and work times, using your own computer at home.
