Product Security Engineer - AI Trainer

DataAnnotation is hiring a Product Security Engineer - AI Trainer to support the training of AI models for cybersecurity use cases. The work involves reviewing AI-generated security content for realism and correctness, then providing feedback that helps improve next-generation AI security models.

This is a fully remote contract role based in Iowa with a flexible schedule, paid hourly through a platform using PayPal.

What you’ll do

• Review AI-generated cybersecurity content, including threat analysis, vulnerability assessments, and offensive security techniques, to verify accuracy and validity in real-world contexts.
• Create and solve security-focused technical problems that are used to train AI systems.
• Write clear technical explanations and produce security-relevant code.
• Provide actionable feedback that directly influences the next generation of AI security models.

What you bring

• 2+ years of hands-on cybersecurity experience in roles such as penetration testing, red teaming, incident response, detection engineering, DFIR, malware analysis, threat intelligence, or adjacent areas, including government or military cyber operations.
• Coding experience is required, with comfort navigating and patching a codebase.
• Fluency in English (native or bilingual level) with strong writing skills.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Cybersecurity certifications are a plus, such as OSCP, CRTO, GREM, GCFA, CEH, or similar.

Contract details and pay

• Pay: $50 to $100 USD per hour
• Potential for bonuses: higher bonus rates may be available for certain projects
