Penetration Tester, Senior

This onsite role in McLean, Virginia, places a Senior Penetration Tester on Booz Allen Hamilton's Internal Red Team, leading enterprise and system-focused security assessments to uncover risks across applications, controls, and network infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Lead enterprise and system-focused network and penetration assessments as a member of Booz Allen's Internal Red Team to identify security risks across applications, security controls, and network infrastructure.
• Perform targeted security assessments in a fast-paced environment, collaborate with offensive security reporting teams, and partner with consulting teams to deliver security analysis and solutions to Booz Allen’s Enterprise Cybersecurity team.
• Evaluate security posture, document findings, support remediation efforts, and promote an environment of innovation and knowledge sharing.
• Identify security risks across applications, security controls, and network infrastructure.
• Collaborate with offensive security reporting teams on findings and analysis.
• Evaluate established rules of engagement and system penetration testing requirements.
• Communicate technical security concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Contribute to security research and promote knowledge sharing across the team.

Requirements

• At least one year of experience in penetration testing and red teaming.
• Experience with vulnerability enumeration and exploitation frameworks, including Burp Suite Pro, Metasploit, Cobalt Strike, Armitage, and PowerSploit.
• Knowledge of the functionality and capabilities of network defense technologies, including incident response, web application firewalls, SIEM and EDR solutions, and evasion techniques.
• Ability to write high-quality assessment reports and communicate effectively with clients and teammates.
• Ability to conduct organized security testing engagements.
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Security, Cybersecurity, or Computer Science.

Compensation

• Compensation is determined by several factors including location, education, knowledge, skills, competencies, experience, contract affordability, and organizational requirements.
• The projected salary range for this position is $86,800 to $198,000 USD per year.
• This range represents typical compensation and is one component of Booz Allen’s total rewards package.
