Network Security Engineer

NovalinkSolutions is seeking a Junior Network Security Analyst for an onsite role in West Columbia, South Carolina with locals only status. This is a 1-year engagement focused on hands-on work across networking and security, supporting day-to-day monitoring, detection, and vulnerability workflows. The position is $60.00 per hour with an expected 40 hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Gain hands-on experience working across networking and cybersecurity.

Requirements

• CCNA or PCNSE certification required.
• 5+ years of experience.

The preferred background includes a BS in Computer Science, IT, Cybersecurity, or a related field.

Security and Networking Skills

• Network design, including routing and switching
• Network security and firewall concepts
• IDS/IPS and security monitoring fundamentals
• SIEM experience with Splunk and QRadar
• Vulnerability scanning using Nessus and Qualys
• Operating system familiarity across Windows, Linux, and macOS
• Network traffic and log analysis

Preferred Qualifications and Knowledge Areas

• Azure/AWS security knowledge (preferred)
• Awareness of NIST, HIPAA, and FISMA (preferred)
• Security+ or CISSP as a plus
