Job Description
Lead operational execution for Caterpillar’s cybersecurity programs, partnering with Cybersecurity leadership to manage portfolio, budget, vendor negotiations, and program outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Lead cyber portfolio management for Deputy CISO level organizations, including investment prioritization, resource planning, executive reporting, and strategic planning processes.
- Maintain visibility into the Cybersecurity portfolio covering project status, resource allocation, budget performance, risks, and business outcomes.
- Partner with Cybersecurity leaders on strategic planning, annual operating plans, investment prioritization, and execution tracking.
- Evaluate program planning during general and detailed stages; develop strategies to ensure projects are cohesive and aligned with organizational goals.
- Evaluate vendors, negotiate contracts, manage renewals, and ensure investments align with organizational priorities and business outcomes.
- Hire, develop, and manage project and program managers, including internal staff and external contractors.
- Collaborate with Cyber teams using a disciplined project management approach; coach them on project roles and responsibilities.
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of 5 Caterpillar and external consultants supporting portfolio governance, project delivery, financial management, and operational excellence across Cybersecurity.
- Own budget, finance, and execution activities on behalf of the Cybersecurity organization to optimize resources.
- Work with other Cybersecurity leaders to support high quality forecasting and execution of Cybersecurity spend.
- Leverage information security investments to improve business, administration, and compliance processes.
- Lead complex, high-impact, or volatile negotiations with high business risk.
- Apply product and vendor evaluation knowledge; implement evaluation and selection processes for products, tools, services, and infrastructure components aligned to business needs and architectural principles.
- Optimize standard processes to maximize efficiency of organizational products or services.
- Apply knowledge of contractual and legal matters tied to expenditures (consulting services, maintenance, agreements, acquisitions, outsourcing, etc.).
- Coach others on contract review methods and operational considerations.
- Review and ensure compliance with relevant organizational and legal policies and procedures.
- Teach evaluation and interpretation of contractual language; use process improvement to increase accuracy and efficiency of contract reviews.
- Lead complex programs or projects spanning multiple stakeholders, workstreams, and dependencies.
- Manage scope, schedule, risks, budgets, and program outcomes; translate complex technical or operational information into executive-ready communications.
- Demonstrate presentation, facilitation, and stakeholder communication skills to build trusted partnerships and influence in a matrixed organization.
- Connect strategic objectives to practical execution plans; navigate ambiguity, solve problems, and adapt to changing priorities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, business administration, or a related field.
- Experience managing organizational budgets, vendor relationships, contract negotiations, and financial planning activities.
- Experience leading a PMO, portfolio management office, business operations function, or similar governance organization.
- Understanding of information security and the relationship between threat, vulnerability, and information value in risk management.
- Experience in a leadership role with high analytical skills and relationship management; proven ability to lead and execute information security compliance and risk mitigation programs.

Salary / Pay range
USD 147,760 - 221,640 per year
Compensation and benefits may vary based on job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance, and experience. Salary is only one component of total compensation.
