Job Description

Based onsite in Austin, TX, the Manager, Cybersecurity at Boston Consulting Group Platinion leads cybersecurity engagements, shaping strategy and architectures and delivering transformation programs for clients.

Responsibilities

  • Technical experts: bring extensive cybersecurity expertise to drive innovative solutions.
  • Innovators: apply cutting-edge cybersecurity approaches to tailor solutions for clients.
  • Change agents: align and onboard teams to implement new cybersecurity processes and tools, guiding organizations to optimize practices.
  • Collaborative: act as interdisciplinary team players, building relationships across cross-functional stakeholders and existing security teams.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of hands-on experience in cybersecurity consulting or cybersecurity management leading teams of five or more, across diverse sectors.
  • Bachelor's degree in cybersecurity, information systems, mathematics, natural sciences, business management, or a related field.
  • Ability to develop cybersecurity strategies or policies.
  • Experience quantifying and managing cybersecurity risk.
  • Proven track record leading security assessments.
  • Experience designing, transforming, implementing, and operating cybersecurity programs.
  • Ability to develop security architectures and integrate security into applications and systems.
  • Experience implementing cloud security and managing cybersecurity risk from third parties and the supply chain.
  • Design and implementation experience for identity and access management.
  • Track record developing and upskilling a cybersecurity workforce and delivering culture change, awareness, and training.
  • Experience performing continuous monitoring activities using SIEM, threat hunting, and user behavior analytics (UBA).
  • Knowledge of vulnerability management, including conducting vulnerability assessments, and performing penetration testing, incident management, business continuity planning, and disaster recovery planning.
  • Broad knowledge of cybersecurity technologies across the organizational and acquisition lifecycle.
  • Working knowledge of at least two cybersecurity frameworks:
    • NIST Cybersecurity Framework
    • C2M2
    • NIST SP 800-53 and companion publications
    • ISO/IEC 27000 family of standards
    • Cloud Security Alliance CCM
  • Team-oriented attitude with strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Analytical and conceptual thinking with a results-oriented mindset.
  • Confidence and persuasiveness in stakeholder engagements.
  • GenAI tool fluency, including demonstrated use of tools such as ChatGPT and Claude, with validation of responses.
  • Business-fluent written and spoken English.
  • Willingness to travel globally to work with clients and BCG teams; travel expectations vary by project.

For U.S. Applicants

  • The base compensation for this role is USD 190,000 per year.
  • In addition to the base salary, you are eligible for an annual discretionary performance bonus and a contribution to BCG's Profit Sharing and Retirement Fund (PSRF).
