Lead Cybersecurity Architect
Job Description
The Lead Cybersecurity Architect role at JPMorganChase sits within the Cybersecurity and Technology Controls organization. The incumbent will develop high quality cybersecurity solutions for software applications built on modern cloud based technologies, reinforcing the firm’s resilient posture. The position is onsite in Plano, TX, with a compensation range of USD 133,000 to 185,000 per year.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with technical teams and business stakeholders to outline and propose technical strategies that address current and evolving cybersecurity requirements.
- Define the target state for cybersecurity products and lead progress toward the security program's strategic goals.
- Identify opportunities to automate or streamline recurring remediation to strengthen the security posture of applications and systems.
- Lead evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to assess cybersecurity design and capabilities for integration into existing systems and architecture.
- Champion communities of practice to raise awareness and adoption of new and leading edge cybersecurity technologies across the organization.
- Design and embed security controls across the software development lifecycle, ensuring secure by design from inception to production.
- Integrate security into CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps workflows to enable automated security testing, vulnerability scanning, and policy enforcement.
- Develop Python based tooling and automation to support security monitoring, control validation, and remediation.
- Collaborate with risk, compliance, and audit stakeholders to translate regulatory requirements into actionable technical controls.
- Leverage enterprise authorized AI capabilities to speed cybersecurity architecture analysis and decisioning, including risk identification and documentation, validating outputs and handling data per sensitivity and security requirements.
- Promote reuse of AI assisted security validation within SDLC and toolchain routines to improve control testing and remediation quality with traceability, auditability, and resiliency expectations.
Requirements
- Formal training or certification in cybersecurity architecture concepts, plus at least five years of hands-on experience.
- Hands-on experience delivering enterprise-scale cybersecurity solutions and controls.
- Advanced proficiency in at least one programming language, including Python.
- Experience across the full software development lifecycle, including automation, continuous delivery, and CI/CD security integration, with the ability to embed security at each phase.
- Strong understanding of agile methodologies, application resiliency, and security principles.
- Experience with software applications and technical processes in areas such as public cloud, artificial intelligence, or machine learning, with practical cloud-native experience and ability to evaluate and recommend future-state architecture solutions.
- Ability to communicate complex security concepts to senior leaders and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience using enterprise authorized AI capabilities to support cybersecurity architecture workflows with strong validation practices and awareness of data sensitivity.
- Ability to assess and validate AI assisted security recommendations prior to adoption, escalating uncertainty and ensuring outcomes align with security, resiliency, and auditability expectations.
