Junior Research Scientist- Cybersecurity

Riverside Research Institute is hiring a Junior Research Scientist to help advance R&D on next generation cybersecurity technologies. The role is focused on protecting systems, networks, and data from advanced threats while working closely with a cyber research group spanning multiple technical specialties.

This position is based in Lexington, MA (onsite), with a salary range of USD 90,000 to 125,000 per year. The work will involve end-to-end development and collaboration across focus areas to prototype and improve security capabilities.

Role overview

The Junior Research Scientist will support technology development efforts by partnering with technical leadership, contributing to prototyping from early ideas through completion, and helping communicate progress to customers through presentations and reporting. Day to day, you will also identify improvement opportunities and share lessons learned within the broader group and beyond.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with technology leads, including principal investigators and management, to develop and prototype new ideas from start to finish
• Assist with presentations and reports describing ongoing work for customers
• Identify new ways to improve the technology being developed
• Share lessons learned with the broader organization internally and externally
• Work across focus areas to help build cutting-edge technologies

Requirements

• Earned a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Cybersecurity
• Deep technical understanding of cybersecurity problems and solutions, with focus in one or more group focus areas
• Proficiency in multiple programming languages, including Python and C
• Ability to obtain a Top Secret security clearance
