Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE) - Senior

Senior Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE) position with CGI Federal in Arlington, VA, onsite, focused on designing, implementing, and managing security solutions for information systems.

Responsibilities

• Design and deploy security architectures for information systems, covering hardware, software, and network layers.
• Identify security risks, develop mitigation strategies, and apply controls to remediate vulnerabilities.
• Ensure compliance with applicable policies, regulations, and standards such as NIST, RMF, and ICD 503.
• Perform vulnerability assessments, interpret findings, and propose remediation actions.
• Create and maintain security documentation, including system security plans, security assessment reports, and risk management plans.
• Collaborate with system administrators, network engineers, software developers, and other stakeholders to embed security into the system development lifecycle.
• Engage in continuous monitoring to maintain security posture and regulatory compliance.
• Contribute to incident response activities, including incident investigation, malware analysis, and forensic review.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree and/or 5 to 8 years of relevant experience.
• Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.
• Strong understanding of security principles, technologies, and best practices.
• Experience applying the Risk Management Framework to information systems.
• Knowledge of secure system design principles and experience building secure architectures.
• Familiarity with security controls and their implementation.
• Experience with vulnerability scanning tools and methodologies.
• Ability to create and maintain security documentation.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to collaborate with diverse teams.
• Strong analytical and problem solving abilities to tackle complex security challenges.
• Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CAP, or equivalent.
