Information System Security Engineers

Artera Technologies is seeking Information System Security Engineers to support the Government in designing, developing, implementing, and integrating information assurance (IA) architectures and secure information system environments. This role is focused on building resilient IA designs that account for multi-enclave connectivity and security requirements, with hands-on support for architecture and risk-driven security decisions in government systems.

This position is based onsite in the Annapolis Junction, MD 20701 (Fort Meade area) region and requires a TS/SCI with appropriate agency polygraph. The engineer will bring IA System Architect and Engineer (IASAE) experience, including recent work within the last five years, to help ensure secure networking, computing, and enclave environment designs.

Responsibilities

• Support the Government in the design, development, implementation, and/or integration of IA architectures, systems, or system components.
• Provide assistance to ensure information system architectures and designs are both functional and secure, including program of record systems and special purpose environments with platform IT interconnectivity.
• Perform system or network designs that span multiple enclaves, including enclaves with differing data protection and classification requirements.
• Apply IA policy, procedures, and workforce structure knowledge to design, develop, and implement secure networking, computing, and enclave environments.

Requirements

• 14 years of IA System Architect and Engineer (IASAE) experience, including recent experience within the last five years.
• Demonstrated Defense-in-Depth principles and technology knowledge, including access/control, authorization, identification and authentication, and Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), as well as network and enterprise security architecture.
• 2 years applying security risk assessment methodology to system development, including threat model development, vulnerability assessments, and security risk analysis derived from those activities.
• A Master’s Degree in Computer Science or IT Engineering is desired and may substitute for 6 years of experience.
• Knowledge of Federal, NSA, IC, and DoD Information Security regulations, publications, and policy.
• This is a CWIP billet per DoD Directive 8570-1 and must meet specified certification requirements defined and documented by the TTO COR, with IASAE Level III noted as a must-have.
