Global Cybersecurity Manager

Google.org’s Stronger Communities team is focused on strengthening the critical systems people rely on every day, with an emphasis on communities that are safe, supported, and resilient in the age of AI. In this onsite role in Chicago, IL, the Global Cybersecurity Manager will lead the team’s global cybersecurity strategy and help drive grantmaking and program effectiveness across regions.

You will shape and execute Google.org’s cybersecurity direction, develop measurable goals and grant roadmaps, and serve as a central point of contact for the cybersecurity portfolio. The role also emphasizes AI-enabled operational efficiency, including AI-assisted research and diligence workflows to accelerate grant evaluation and portfolio synthesis.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of the global cybersecurity portfolio strategy, including measurable goals and clear grant roadmaps, and act as the central point of contact for cybersecurity grantmaking.
• Build strategic global programs and grants, including AI-enabled defense tools, and develop partnerships and co-funding opportunities across the philanthropic sector.
• Drive AI-enabled operational efficiency by integrating AI-assisted research and diligence workflows to accelerate grant evaluation, landscape mapping, and portfolio synthesis.
• Build and lead a global community of practice to enable knowledge sharing, and partner with the Evaluation Strategy team to track program effectiveness and ecosystem resilience using modern data analytics.
• Serve as the primary liaison for global Policy, Security, Communications, and Marketing to support high-profile program launches and to build compelling narratives for external stakeholders and key industry events.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of experience in program or project management.
• 5 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects involving AI-augmented workflows or emerging technology.

Compensation: US $136,000 - $196,000 (USD) plus 15% bonus target, equity, and benefits.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of experience in program or project management.
• 5 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects involving AI-augmented workflows or emerging technology.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience leveraging AI-assisted tools, workflow automation, or modern analytical methods to streamline internal team operations and enhance program delivery.
• Significant experience working in the field of cybersecurity, digital resilience, or open-source security.
• Expertise in philanthropy within the tech philanthropy sector, with a focus on developing evidence-based social impact solutions and executing effective interventions within complex portfolio areas.
• Excellent strategic thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to assess technical risks, identify ecosystem gaps, and create new opportunities.
• Exceptional leadership and collaboration skills, with the ability to build consensus and drive results across teams and stakeholders.
