FBI Special Agent: Cybersecurity/IT Expertise

The Federal Bureau of Investigation is seeking an FBI Special Agent with information security and SIEM tools experience to support investigations tied to cybersecurity and public safety, with a mission focus on protecting national security. In this New York-based, onsite role, your technical background in cyber defense, encryption, threat detection, and vulnerability analysis will support the work of investigating crimes that threaten communities.

What you will do

• Plan and conduct investigations into potential violations of federal laws, cybersecurity, and public safety.
• Apply judgment, resourcefulness, and versatility to meet investigative demands.
• Develop and maintain effective liaison relationships with federal, state, local, tribal, territorial, and international law enforcement agencies.
• Maintain a level of physical fitness to support readiness for law enforcement duties.

Cybersecurity focus and tools

• Leverage information security and SIEM tools in support of investigative outcomes.
• Use expertise in cyber defense, encryption, threat detection, and vulnerability analysis.

• Compensation: USD 103,236 - 133,200 per yearly
• Salary is commensurate with base, locality, and availability pay.

Requirements

• Must be a U.S. citizen.
• Must be able to obtain a Top Secret Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) Clearance.
• Must be willing to travel as required.
• Must meet the FBI’s Employment Eligibility requirements.
• Must have a master's degree or higher from a U.S. accredited college or university.
