Cybersecurity Technical Writer - AI Trainer
Job Description
DataAnnotation is seeking an experienced cybersecurity technical writer to support AI training efforts in a contract capacity. This role focuses on reviewing AI-generated cybersecurity material and contributing technical feedback that helps AI systems reason about real-world threats and defenses.
Role Overview
As an AI Trainer and Cybersecurity Technical Writer, you will evaluate outputs produced by AI systems for accuracy and validity, build security-focused training problems, and provide clear written explanations and code that support model improvement.
Responsibilities
- Assess AI-generated cybersecurity content, including threat analysis, vulnerability assessments, and offensive security techniques, with an emphasis on real-world accuracy and validity.
- Design and solve security-focused technical problems used to train AI systems.
- Produce clear technical explanations and security-relevant code.
- Deliver feedback that directly influences how AI security models improve for future deployments.
Requirements
- 2+ years of hands-on experience in a cybersecurity role, such as penetration testing, red teaming, incident response, detection engineering, DFIR, malware analysis, threat intelligence, or closely related fields, including government or military cyber operations.
- Some coding experience is required, including comfort navigating and patching a codebase.
- English fluency (native or bilingual) with strong technical writing skills.
- A bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- Cybersecurity certifications are a plus, such as OSCP, CRTO, GREM, GCFA, CEH, or similar credentials.

Compensation
- Pay rate: $50 to $100 USD per hour
