Cybersecurity/IT Support Technician

AIT is seeking a Cybersecurity/IT Support Technician for on-site work in Chesterfield, MI. The role combines hands-on IT support with security responsibilities, including serving as the ISSO for isolated networks. The position requires 3+ years of experience and a DoD security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on, break/fix support in a Microsoft Server and workstation environment for end-users.
• Perform preventative maintenance and monitoring of hardware and software, ensuring timely updates and upgrades across desktops, laptops, tablets, AV equipment, and peripherals.
• Support manufacturing applications such as CATIA v.5, ENOVIA, Verisurf, and Mastercam.
• Troubleshoot printer and copier issues, coordinating with vendors as needed.
• Complete and document support tickets accurately, tracking issues and resolutions.
• Manage user accounts, including password resets, group memberships, and file share access.
• Ensure the security and integrity of user environments at corporate and remote locations.
• Provide ongoing end-user support to ensure access to required IT resources.
• Assist in adherence to IT policies and address risks that could impact business operations.
• Maintain comprehensive IT documentation, including installation notes and troubleshooting guides.
• Collaborate with the Corporate IT team on enterprise-wide projects and implementations.
• Perform additional duties as directed by management.
• Serve as the designated ISSO for isolated, mission-critical networks, maintaining security and compliance.
• Assist in developing, implementing, and enforcing security policies to safeguard data and systems.
• Create and maintain System Security Plans (SSPs), Continuous Monitoring (ConMon) processes, and Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&M) documentation.
• Conduct risk assessments, vulnerability scans, and penetration testing to identify and mitigate vulnerabilities.
• Investigate and respond to security incidents, coordinating with incident response teams.
• Create, update, and deliver cybersecurity training to end users on critical topics and best practices.
• Ensure compliance with relevant industry regulations (e.g., NIST, GDPR) and government guidelines for information security.
• Develop and maintain system diagrams documenting network architecture and security measures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field is preferred.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience as an IT Support Technician, Cybersecurity, or IT Security Specialist.
• Proven experience managing Windows environments, including system administration, patching, and break/fix resolution.
• Working knowledge of network security principles, protocols, and best practices.
• Experience serving as an ISSO or performing similar responsibilities in a secure or regulated IT environment.
• Practical experience creating system and network diagrams and ensuring compliance with governmental security guidelines (e.g., NIST).
• Familiarity with security frameworks, risk management processes, and incident response procedures.
• Relevant certifications such as Security+, CISSP, GIAC, or CCNA Security are required.
• This position requires a government Secret security clearance; US Citizenship is required for consideration.
