Cybersecurity Engineer, Junior

Booz Allen Hamilton is hiring a Junior Cybersecurity Engineer to support the design, implementation, integration, and maintenance of systems and tools that automate complex cybersecurity activities. In this role, you will work under direct supervision while applying foundational cybersecurity principles to address routine problems and escalate more complex issues as needed.

Location: El Segundo, CA (onsite). Salary: USD 55,200 - 126,000 per year. Education: Bachelor’s degree.

What you’ll do

• Design, implement, integrate, and maintain systems and tools that automate complex cyber activities
• Resolve routine problems of limited scope and complexity, referring more complex issues to higher levels
• Work under direct supervision

What you need

• Experience with programming or scripting languages: C/C++, PowerShell, and Python
• Knowledge of general computer systems, information security software and hardware components, network systems, databases, or information security safeguards
• Knowledge of cybersecurity and privacy principles, computer networking concepts and protocols, and network security methodologies
• Ability to break down complex IT systems, including cloud, servers, firewalls, routers, and switches
• Ability to communicate technical details to various levels of internal and external stakeholders
• Ability to obtain a Secret clearance
• Ability to obtain DoD 8570 IAT II+ certification, including Security+, within 90 days of the start date
