Job Description

The Cybersecurity Engineer role at General Dynamics Information Technology is an on-site position in Herndon, VA, requiring TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph. The incumbent will maintain system security accreditations using Xacta, GreenLight, and Rapid7 in collaboration with assigned onsite Information System Security Managers.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the ongoing maintenance and renewal of security accreditations for information systems.
  • Collaborate within Xacta, GreenLight, and Rapid7 workflows and with assigned onsite Information System Security Managers.
  • Prioritize multiple projects and guide applications through the accreditation process efficiently.

Requirements

  • Experience developing and reviewing security concepts of operations, systems security plans, security control assessments, contingency and configuration management plans, incident response plans, plans of actions and milestones, risk management plans, vulnerability scanning, and vulnerability management plans.
  • Documented experience with Xacta, GreenLight, and RMF processes (Rev4 and Rev5).
  • Hands-on knowledge of cloud security design, requirements analysis, control implementation, and mitigation; experience securing applications in cloud environments such as Amazon Web Services.
  • In-depth familiarity with A&A policy and guidance, including ICD-503, FISMA, RMF/A&A processes, NIST SP series (800-27, 800-30, 800-37, 800-53, 800-60, 800-137, 800-144, 800-145), FIPS (199, 200), CNSSI 1253 technical controls, and developing and maintaining certification and accreditation documentation.
  • Experience performing security system scans for network, platform, database, and web services using tools such as Nessus, Rapid7, Weblnspect, and AppDetective.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills and team-oriented mindset.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities; capable of presenting reports to management and collaborating with developers and engineers to determine appropriate mitigations for vulnerabilities.
  • Proven track record delivering high-quality deliverables on time with regular status updates to keep IT security projects on track.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and adherence to standard operating procedures; ability to report anomalies and inconsistencies.
  • Creative and persistent problem solver with strong troubleshooting skills; capable of root-cause analysis and presenting viable solutions to management.
  • Professional work ethic, dependable, and proactive.
  • Certifications: CISSP, CASP.
  • Experience with Jira and managing security-based requirements; project or program management experience.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or an equivalent combination of education, certifications, or work experience.
  • Experience: 10+ years.
  • Security Clearance: TS/SCI with Polygraph.
  • Location: Herndon, VA; Hours: Core 9:00 am to 3:00 pm; Citizenship: US Citizenship Required.

Salary and Benefits Information

The likely annual salary range for this position is $178,500 to $241,500. This range is not a guarantee of compensation; final salary is determined by experience, geographic location, and contractual requirements and could fall outside the stated range.
