Cybersecurity Engineer III

The Bison Group LLC seeks a Cybersecurity Engineer III to join its Colorado Springs on-site team, focusing on security engineering, cyber hunt activities, vulnerability management, and security compliance for DoD and IC programs. This role blends hands-on engineering with proactive defense, requiring a current TS/SCI clearance and DoD 8570 IAT II or IAM II certification, plus a bachelor’s degree. Responsibilities

• Design and implement security engineering solutions and craft security architecture artifacts
• Oversee penetration testing and security exercise planning and execution
• Perform computer operating system forensic analysis and support network security
• Automate security compliance across systems and integrate security into system design documentation
• Conduct cyber hunt activities and configure SIEM tools, including Splunk
• Engineer security into systems and solutions across software, hardware, and communications
• Address current and future cross-functional requirements and interfaces, including hardware and software upgrades
• Deploy and operate cybersecurity tools and lead penetration testing efforts
• Secure network systems and participate in vulnerability scans using Tenable Nessus
• Utilize Zeek and ELSA for network security monitoring
• Develop automated solutions to achieve security compliance and collect security analytics
• Oversee security incident detection activities and create high-level system design diagrams
• Ensure the operating environment remains security compliant and assess risk posture of enclave IT systems
• Evaluate security findings, propose mitigations, and develop corrective actions for workflow and planning challenges

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a relevant field; an additional 4 years of experience may substitute for the degree
• Minimum of six (6) years of relevant experience beyond education level
• Active DoD 8570 IAT II or IAM II certification
• Experience in a DoD or Intelligence Community environment is desirable
• Current active TS/SCI clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a CI polygraph

Location and Compensation

Location: Colorado Springs, CO, onsite. Salary: USD 160,000 to 180,000 per year. This range reflects multiple factors such as geography, labor categories for Federal Government contracts, prior experience, specific skills and certifications, education, and certifications.
