Cybersecurity Engineer II
Job Description
Onsite Cybersecurity Engineer II role with Raytheon, based in Tewksbury, MA, focusing on defining security requirements, performing vulnerability assessments, and ensuring RMF compliance through A&A processes, with an active DoD Secret clearance.
Responsibilities
- Develop security requirements and architectural designs, offering guidance on security technologies.
- Analyze security telemetry and test results to inform decisions.
- Create and maintain security compliance documentation.
- Define cybersecurity requirements, design artifacts, architecture documents, strategies, plans, and policies.
- Lead and provide guidance on vulnerability assessments, including defining, negotiating, and executing Assessment and Authorization events.
- Collaborate with program and engineering teams to evaluate cybersecurity solution options.
- Conduct cybersecurity audits to verify proper implementation and alignment with the security posture.
- Define security development and testing efforts to implement controls across networking devices, databases, operating systems, and hardware/software components.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, with 2+ years of relevant experience.
- Experience in cybersecurity, compliance, and the NIST Risk Management Framework (RMF).
- Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance required prior to start date; U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
- Experience with security features and/or vulnerabilities across various operating systems as defined by NSA, NIST, DISA (STIGs), and USCYBERCOM.
- Background in network and system security administration, including OS security configuration and account management best practices for Microsoft Windows, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, and Cisco systems.
- Experience with NIST RMF as described in NIST 800-37.

Qualifications We Prefer
- Familiar with Program Protection Plan PPP required by DoDI 5000.2 and DoDI 5200.39.
- DoDI 8570.01-M IAT Level-III compliant certification (CISSP, CCNP Security, CISA, etc.).
- Experience supporting U.S. Government contract proposals as an Information Assurance Engineer subject matter expert.
- Security related network and operating system certifications or training (e.g., Cisco, related OS).
- Self-starter who can operate with limited direction and supervision.
