Cybersecurity Engineer

Apogee Engineering, LLC is seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer for senior-level cybersecurity engineering support to protect and assure mission Information Systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and implementation of secure system architectures and cybersecurity engineering solutions for information systems.
• Use engineering principles, security standards, and best practices to harden systems and networks against cyber threats.
• Participate in requirements analysis, system trade studies, and risk analyses focused on cybersecurity posture.
• Support accreditation and assessment activities by producing technical artifacts and providing engineering input to RMF and other security processes.
• Prepare and deliver technical reports, briefings, and engineering documentation covering security designs, risks, and mitigations.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to journeyman and junior cyber engineering staff.
• Provide senior-level engineering support across the NAISC portfolio to support cybersecurity engineering activities.

Requirements

• US citizenship required.
• TS/SCI clearance required.
• CISSP or a DoD 8140-compliant certification (examples listed: other IAM/IASAE category certifications).
• Minimum 10 years of experience in the cybersecurity or information systems engineering functional area.
• Master’s degree in a field relevant to cybersecurity, information systems, computer science, engineering, or related discipline.
• Degree substitution options:
  • 8 additional years of work experience may substitute for the Master’s degree.
  • 4 additional years of work experience plus a Bachelor’s degree may substitute.
• Demonstrated experience performing complex, mission-critical cybersecurity engineering tasks, leading technical efforts, and supporting DoD or similar programs.

Education

• Master’s degree in a field relevant to cybersecurity, information systems, computer science, engineering, or related discipline.
