Cybersecurity Analyst I

Cybersecurity Analyst I supports routine security operations and IT health checks across Windows and Linux environments.

Responsibilities

• Run routine system and cybersecurity health checks and escalate issues that require further action
• Maintain accurate asset inventory and configuration records for assigned systems
• Assist with hardware lifecycle activities, including server deployment, replacement, and decommissioning
• Support identify and access management (IAM) solutions, including Single Sign-on (SSO), Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), and Active Directory, plus IAM lifecycle management
• Contribute to security posture initiatives such as system hardening, policy enforcement, and IT operational governance
• Assist with user account administration, permissions, group policies, and enterprise access control systems
• Configure and troubleshoot endpoint security platforms
• Perform patching and vulnerability remediation activities to support security compliance and operational integrity
• Support and maintain Windows and Linux server environments, with primary focus on Ubuntu, RHEL, and Debian-based systems
• Support virtualization infrastructure and automation/scripting solutions using Python, Powershell, and AI
• Assist in implementing, maintaining, and optimizing monitoring, alerting, and visualization platforms
• Apply and maintain working knowledge of networking concepts and protocols including TCP/IP, VLANs, switching, and routing
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, standard operating procedures, and training materials for end users and admins
• Collaborate in Agile development workflows and participate in project management processes
• Complete all assigned IT and Security training

Requirements

• Effective communication of technical information verbally and in writing to supervisors, peers, technical staff, and non-technical end users
• Comfort working in head-less user interfaces
• Basic Linux architecture understanding is required
• Valid driver’s license without violation, since violations would prohibit insurability

Education and Experience

• Education: Associate’s degree in computer information systems or a related technical field
• Experience: 1 year of experience with IT infrastructure including Windows and Linux server environments, identity and access management, virtualization platforms, endpoint security solutions, and systems monitoring tools
• Preferred: Active Directory, Okta, CrowdStrike, and virtualization technologies
• Preferred certifications: A+, Linux+, Security+, LPIC-1
• Preferred: Relevant work experience in systems administration, infrastructure management, or IT operations (in place of degree)

External Relationships

• Vendors: Evaluate and order new equipment; report equipment malfunctions; resolve hardware and software issues; keep updated on current technology

Other Requirements

• Handle IT-related equipment and routine office equipment
• Office environment with higher and/or longer noise level than average
• Weekends, evening hours, overtime, and/or overnight travel may often be necessary
