Job Description

Fully remote contract work with flexible scheduling and hourly pay up to $50 to $100 USD per hour. DataAnnotation teams up with experienced cybersecurity professionals to help train AI models by reviewing AI-generated security content and providing feedback that improves how these systems reason about real-world threats and defenses.

Work is completed on your own computer, and you can select the projects you take on and the hours you work. This role offers the chance to directly impact the development of cybersecurity-focused AI technologies by shaping the next generation of AI security models.

Responsibilities

  • Review and evaluate AI-generated cybersecurity content, including threat analysis, vulnerability assessments, and offensive security techniques, with an emphasis on real-world accuracy and validity.
  • Design and solve security-focused technical problems used to train AI systems.
  • Produce clear technical explanations and security-relevant code as part of training and feedback.
  • Provide feedback that directly influences how future AI security models are trained and improved.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of hands-on experience in a cybersecurity role, such as penetration testing, red teaming, incident response, detection engineering, DFIR, malware analysis, threat intelligence, or adjacent areas, including government or military cyber operations.
  • Some coding experience required, including comfort navigating and patching a codebase.
  • Fluency in English (native or bilingual level) with strong writing skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Certifications are a plus (examples: OSCP, CRTO, GREM, GCFA, CEH, and similar).
