Job Description
Leidos is seeking a Cybersecurity Analyst to join the Defense Scan Team in Huntsville, AL, focusing on scanning, vulnerability management, and security analysis across Linux, Windows, and tactical systems using STIGs/SCAP, with code scans and remediation reporting.
Responsibilities
- Perform regular security scans on Linux, Windows, and tactical systems using STIGs, SCAP, and proprietary tools.
- Conduct code scans to identify vulnerabilities in applications and software.
- Analyze scan results to detect potential security gaps and weaknesses.
- Prioritize vulnerabilities based on severity and potential impact.
- Generate detailed remediation reports with actionable guidance for mitigation.
- Collaborate with senior team members to ensure vulnerabilities are addressed and security requirements are met.
- Track remediation progress and maintain visibility of status.
- Maintain thorough documentation of scanning processes and results.
- Stay current on cybersecurity trends to enhance the team’s security posture.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of scanning processes and methodologies for higher efficiency and effectiveness.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field with 2+ years of relevant experience, or Master’s degree in related field.
- Basic understanding of operating systems (Linux, Windows) and tactical systems.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to produce clear, concise reports.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Security+ CE certification (or equivalent) to meet 8570.01 IAT Level II requirements.
- Resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville - North Alabama, AL area.
- U.S. Citizenship required and must be eligible to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance.
