Job Description

DataAnnotation is hiring an Application Security Engineer - AI Trainer to support the training of AI models by assessing AI-generated security outputs and resolving security-focused technical tasks. The position is flexible and can be performed fully remotely from select countries.

Location and Work Arrangement

Turnersville, NJ (remote). This contract role is available to candidates located in the US, Canada, UK, Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand.

Employment Type and Compensation

Contract position with hourly project pay ranging from $50 to $100 USD per hour. Payment is made via PayPal, and some projects may offer higher bonus rates.

Role Responsibilities

  • Review AI-generated cybersecurity content, including threat analysis, vulnerability assessments, and offensive security techniques, with a focus on real-world accuracy and validity.
  • Develop and solve security-oriented technical problems that are used to train AI systems.
  • Produce clear technical explanations and relevant security-focused code.
  • Provide actionable feedback that directly influences improvements in AI security model training.

Required Qualifications

  • 2+ years of hands-on experience in a cybersecurity role, including areas such as penetration testing, red teaming, incident response, detection engineering, DFIR, malware analysis, threat intelligence, or adjacent work.
  • Experience may include government or military cyber operations.
  • Some coding experience is required, including comfort navigating and patching a codebase.
  • English proficiency at a native or bilingual level, with strong writing skills.

Education and Preferred Skills

  • A bachelor’s degree is preferred.
  • Cybersecurity certifications are a plus, such as OSCP, CRTO, GREM, GCFA, CEH, or similar.
