Citi is seeking a Cybersecurity Architect focused on Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC) for its Quantum Readiness Program in Jacksonville, Florida (onsite). In this role, you will help protect enterprise data against cryptographically relevant quantum computing threats by guiding cryptographic reviews, migration planning, governance strategy, and alignment with vendors and standards across the organization.
What you’ll do
- Serve as a Subject Matter Expert on traditional and post-quantum cryptography algorithms, practices, and real-world use cases.
- Support Citi’s Quantum Readiness Program to ensure data protection from cryptographically relevant quantum computing threats.
- Co-own the PQC readiness view of the cryptographic inventory by reconciling outputs from inventory tools and discovery tools, reducing or eliminating manual enrichment needed for PQC reporting.
- Provide guidance and effective challenge to business and technology leaders on secure cryptography implementation.
- Apply deep practical cryptography knowledge to explain impacts and considerations when migrating to post-quantum use cases.
- Deliver professional presentations on emerging cryptography trends, tailoring messaging for different levels of expertise and leadership.
- Contribute to a risk-based, data-driven governance strategy and roadmap for the Quantum Readiness Program in partnership with architecture, engineering, operations, information security officers, and other stakeholders.
- Provide technical expertise in symmetric and asymmetric encryption, digital signatures, hashing, DLT (Distributed Ledger Technology), and related key and certificate management concerns.
- Identify tools needed for cryptography and key and certificate governance, lead proofs of concept (PoCs), and oversee implementations as needed.
- Partner with application, infrastructure, architecture, and engineering teams to translate system and business requirements into implementation requirements, embedding PQC and crypto-agility needs into roadmaps and modernization efforts.
- Build internal relationships to help drive program-level timelines and enterprise requirements across Citi globally.
- Support new product and vendor assessments, including PoCs and trials to inform deployment and adoption decisions.
- Work with Third-Party Risk Management and supplier teams to assess vendor PQC roadmaps and ensure PQC requirements are incorporated into contracts and renewals.
- Establish reporting and metrics, including KPIs and KRIs, for governance, senior leadership, internal audit, and regulatory reporting.
- Monitor developments from NIST, IETF, CNSA, and relevant regulatory and industry bodies to determine impact on guidance and program timelines.
- Respond to internal and external or regulatory requests related to program readiness and alignment.
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience in cybersecurity, cryptography, or a control-related function at enterprise organizations, including knowledge and/or prior consulting support of Post-Quantum migration strategies and timelines.
- Ability to architect PQC deployments within existing infrastructure use cases such as PKI, ATM, Payments, and hardware components like HSMs, load balancers, network devices, and embedded endpoints.
- Experience working with 3rd party/vendor tools and applications related to cryptographic support and upgrade pathways.
- Working knowledge of PKI, application and data security, symmetric encryption, and implementation of these systems.
- Strong diplomacy skills to guide, influence, and convince both technical and non-technical stakeholders across a global organization.
- Strong understanding of operating systems, network security infrastructure, and at least one scripting language (for example, Python or bash).
- Strong understanding of AI capabilities and how to utilize them, including ability to leverage Citi’s generative AI tools to accelerate deliverables.
- Solid understanding of cryptography, algorithms, and implementations, with ongoing knowledge building through research, self-study, and engagement.
- Solid understanding of technologies where cryptography is leveraged, including software, networking, identity systems, and data platforms.
- Experience with public cloud technologies and their use of cryptography and key management.
