Lead the secure, reliable operation of Caterpillar’s Identity and Access Management (IAM) platform ecosystem. In this onsite role in Irving, TX, you will manage engineering and operations efforts across availability, reliability, performance, resiliency, and service delivery. You will work with globally distributed teams and offshore service delivery partners to drive operational excellence for business-critical identity services.
What You’ll Do
- Direct IAM platform operations and engineering teams focused on platform availability, reliability, performance, and resiliency.
- Manage globally distributed teams and offshore service delivery partners, building accountability and delivering customer-focused outcomes.
- Set operational standards across monitoring, incident response, service restoration, platform health, and operational readiness.
- Drive automation and DevOps to reduce manual effort, improve efficiency, and strengthen platform stability and scalability.
- Enable AI-powered operational capabilities to improve monitoring, operational insights, knowledge management, anomaly detection, and automated remediation.
- Define and track service performance using KPIs, SLAs, SLOs, and platform health metrics.
- Lead lifecycle activities including upgrades, patching, modernization, capacity planning, resiliency improvements, and technical debt reduction.
- Partner with cybersecurity, infrastructure, cloud, and application teams to deliver secure and dependable IAM platform services.
- Manage vendor relationships, managed service providers, operational budgets, and workforce planning activities.
- Build and develop high-performing teams while fostering accountability, ownership, innovation, and continuous improvement.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Proven leadership experience managing platform operations, infrastructure, cloud, or enterprise technology teams.
- Track record leading globally distributed teams, offshore delivery organizations, and managed service providers.
- Strong foundation in service management, platform operations, monitoring/observability, and reliability engineering principles.
- Experience supporting highly available business-critical platforms in large-scale enterprise environments.
- Demonstrated success driving automation, operational transformation, and continuous improvement.
- Working knowledge of DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC), plus modern platform engineering approaches.
- Understanding of AI-enabled operations and practical AI applications to improve operational efficiency and service delivery.
- Effective communication, collaboration, stakeholder management, and decision-making skills.
- Experience developing high-performing technical teams in fast-paced, high-volume environments.
Preferred Certifications and Experience
- Industry certifications such as CISSP, CISM, ITIL, Azure, AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, or similar credentials.
- Experience supporting enterprise IAM platforms and technologies.
- Experience with Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), operational observability, and service resiliency practices.
- Experience implementing automation, orchestration, self-service, or self-healing platform capabilities.
- Experience using Microsoft Copilot, Azure AI, or similar technologies to improve operational outcomes.
- Familiarity with AI governance, AI Operations (AIOps), and emerging platform engineering practices.

Compensation and Schedule
Estimated annual salary: USD 147,760 - 221,640.
This role requires 5 days onsite. Relocation assistance is available. Sponsorship is NOT available. Location is listed for Dallas, TX or Peoria, IL (onsite).
