A Final Secret clearance is required to begin employment, with eligibility to pursue Top Secret clearance in the future.
Role Summary
The Classified Cybersecurity Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) will be based at the Lockheed Martin Space facility in Sunnyvale, CA. ISSOs secure mission-critical products and advanced engineering and manufacturing systems by applying leading cybersecurity practices. The role supports national security initiatives across defense, space exploration, climate sustainability, and commercial applications, offering opportunities to work across the full spectrum of the cyber domain while maintaining a work life balance with flexible hours and a family-first culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Support daily information system security operations, including hardware and software implementations.
- Perform technical administration of information systems in line with internal LM requirements and customer security requirements, primarily through RMF.
- Monitor, analyze, and respond to network and security events.
- Document compliance actions in the approved automated tracking system or coordinate a plan of actions and milestones (POA&M) with the Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM) to address non-compliance within the allotted timeframe.
- Ensure systems are operated, maintained, and disposed of per internal security policies and the security plan.
- Auditing is a significant aspect of the role's responsibilities.
Basic Qualifications
- Secret clearance with ability to obtain Top Secret clearance
- DoD 8570 IAM Level II certification
- Information systems auditing experience
- Hands-on experience with industry-standard Information Assurance tools
- Technical familiarity with Windows or Linux-based operating systems and their security requirements
Desired Skills
- Knowledge of network security concepts including encryption, firewalls, authentication, and perimeter protection
- Understanding of network design processes, security objectives, operational needs, and trade-offs
- Familiarity with DISA STIGs, classified computer operations, and the configuration requirements for various operating systems
- Experience performing security hardening on diverse Linux and Windows systems per DISA STIGs and SRGs
- Advanced RMF knowledge as a Subject Matter Expert and implementation across multiple phases of a large program
- Experience configuring Windows, Networking, and Unix/Linux systems in accordance with DISA STIGs
- In-depth system hardening, vulnerability management, and analysis experience
- Proficiency with Solaris/Unix/Linux command line
- Experience deploying complex technologies at multiple classification levels within large, enterprise environments
- Prior Information System Security Engineer (ISSE) or System Administration experience
Security Clearance and Citizenship
This role requires a government security clearance. Applicants must be a U.S. citizen. Clearance level is Top Secret.

Work Arrangement and Schedule
Onsite full-time position at a Lockheed Martin facility. Schedule is a 9x80 arrangement with every other Friday off.
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary ranges vary by location:
- In California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metro areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC: $113,900 to $200,905.
- For other states, the salary will reflect the final work location.
- In most major metropolitan areas in California, Massachusetts, and New York: $131,000 to $227,125. For other locations, salary will reflect the final work location.
- This position is eligible for an incentive plan.

- Washington state applicants who are non-represented full-time accrue at least 10 hours of Paid Time Off per month and receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full-time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month, up to 52 hours of sick leave annually, and at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on the start date during the calendar year.
