Responsibilities We are looking to recruit a customer focused 1st and 2nd line technical support engineer to support and maintain our internal network and estate but also to spearhead the development of a SOC within the next 12-18 months at North. As an experienced IT Security Support Engineer, you should be approachable, have effective communication skills and be able to liaise with non-technical users. Good consulting and problem-solving skills are paramount, as is the ability to effectively plan and prioritise multiple tasks and technically complicated rollouts, whilst keeping calm under pressure. Day to day securing of the North network, managing and updating incident requests Development and planning for the North SOC and SIEM L2 ad L3 support to our NOC Manage Active Directory (Maintenance / Security / User Access / Group Policy) Secure O365 services (AzureAD, Intune, Security & Compliance Centre, Cloud Apps, DLP) VPN Support Participate in network roll-outs where appropriate Ensure appropriate infrastructure security, resilience, backup and recovery are in place and tested Maintain the current IT infrastructure and apply security updates when required via the NOC Manage end-of-support lifecycles Produce documentation, procedures and best practices to support the ISO27001 ISMS Complete internal audits to ISO27001 standard Prepare and deploy information security awareness training and testing Information security risk management and mitigation Understand external attack surface and exposure and respond to threats Maintain service excellence in line with internal SLAs Qualifications ICT Security with Knowledge of managing SIEM VMWare ESX/ESXi VSphere virtualisation - desirable Microsoft 365 security related certification - desirable CCNP - desirable CompTIA Security+ - desirable Excellent customer service skills, including written and oral communication Proven experience in a security networking/IT environment Ability to work alone & within a small team Pride in themselves and their work Highly organized with ability to work under pressure to meet strict deadlines and SLA’s * Analytical and detail conscious
